Overview

Drivers can opt-in to allow the driver app to track their location in the background, giving transparency to their producers & contractors.

Location Permissions

After downloading the driver app, and signing into your account, if the account you’ve signed into has GPS enabled, SOP will ask you to grant the app access to your background location, along with some other data from your phone. Below is a list of how SOP uses this data:

  • Location Access & Background Location Access
    • Used for allowing the app access to your current location, along with granting access to it while the phone is locked, or the app is in the background/closed.
  • Fitness Data
    • SOP’s GPS solution leverages your phone’s accelerometer to determine if the app should collect GPS data – meaning when your phone isn’t moving, we aren’t tracking your location. While moving, you location is only recorded every 150ft your phone travels.

Driver’s must grant the app access to their location data if they wish to provide location data to their employers. Driver’s also reserve the right to decline/revoke permission, and the right to request the immediate deletion of their data by contacting [email protected].

For more information on how we use this data, visit our privacy policy & acceptable use policy.
